Ski touring is a unique sport which gives you the ability to walk uphill and ski back down. All our routes have been tried and tested by professional ski tour guides and a qualified guide will always lead our off piste skiing tours. This kind of tour is not suitable to every ski stag holiday in Bulgaria. You must be an advanced skier.
The defining characteristic of ski touring equipment are the ‘free heel’ boots; which give you this ability. It is a physically demanding but highly rewarding sport as it means you can get to places others cannot and see and experiences some stunning landscapes and often get to the freshest powder.
Please bear in mind that even for our easy off piste ski routes you must be an advanced downhill skier as a minimum. Having your own equipment for this tour would be essential.
Ski Touring tours explore the remote corners of the southern Rila peaks. There is no ski infrastructure in this lovely, unspoilt valley; but miles of great ski touring terrain to explore and enjoy. If you like to ski wild and on open slopes and love wooded glades in the back of the beyond, then Borovets is the place to do it properly.
Our ski tours are designed in 3 categories. Our easy route is a half day tour taking around 4 hours. Our medium tour is for experienced skiers and duration is normally 4-6 hours. Finally we have our difficult ski tour which is a full day tour and lasts around 7-8 hours.
Duration always depends on weather conditions and our guests abilities. For the medium and difficult ski tours we would prefer that the guests have their own ski touring equipment. For the easy tour we can provide everything. Do not book this kind of trip for your ski stag weekend if beginning in this type of skiing.

Myself and 13 friends did the medium route to the Musla lodge. We were extremely lucky with the weather; lots of fresh snow and beautiful sunshine. It was magical at times. Our guide was very professional and the medium route was ideal for a day tour. The ski path was largely pre groomed so it was a fairly gentle altitude increase to the lodge. My bestman and I along with a fives friends booked to do the easy ski tour day trip. It took us around 5 hours all in all. We were new to ski touring but advanced downhillers and pretty fit. We really enjoyed it and will do it again. We thought it was well pitched and our guide constantly assessed us throughout the half day. Good fun and good alternative to downhilling.

Small group of friends we decided to give the easy ski touring day a go. We walked to Sitnyakovo Rock. Views were amazing. From the top you could take the upper lift back down of ski down on pisted runs. I would say a great way to experience a new sport. Ideal for fit hikers or runners who are competent downhill skiers.
